They same old same, same shuck and jive routine
Subject to the rules laid down by adult regimes

And it’s not so easy these days to be young
We don’t know who to blame sometimes and I guess you’re the one
We got tears for this and cheers for that but you’re getting none

And you get down and out and you got nowhere to go
But you come bouncing back somehow, how I don’t know
Then you turn the other cheek and get just one more blow

And it’s not easy keepin’ your cool
You’d lose the one you love and it makes you feel like a fool
And no one cares or ever shares your misery with you
Oh I know, it’s not easy

And it’s not so easy finding out who
Lives behind that face that everyone knows as you
But you’ll look back and laugh someday ’cause you’ll see this through
But for now, I know, it’s not easy

But you’ll be down and out someday and someone will know
Someone to help you bounce back when you’re feeling real low
And you’ll turn the other cheek and get a kiss for your woes
And then you’ll know, love makes it easy
